To coordinate a media conference and public event announcing Oxford Networks’ newly constructed fiber optic network, the first of its kind in Bangor and Brewer, making these cities two of only a few in the US with such large broadband capacity.  Presenters included Maine Governor John E. Baldacci, Commissioner of the Maine DECD John Richardson, Bangor and Brewer Mayors and Economic Development Specialists, as well as the president of Oxford Networks, Craig Gunderson.

Results

The news conference was attended the major daily and weekly publications in the Bangor area as well as Bangor’s 3 television network affiliates who fed their coverage of the event to Portland affiliates in time for the evening news. In the following week, the announcement received print coverage statewide.
