Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Maine awards $164,165.00 to sixteen Maine organizations in 2010


Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of Maine recently announced that it awarded grant funding totaling  $164,165.00 to sixteen Maine non-profit organizations in 2010. Since its founding in 1989, RMHC of Maine has awarded more than $1.6 million in charitable grants to programs that positively impact families and children across Maine.

 



RMHC of Maine is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help Maine children and their families lead happier, healthier and more productive lives. While the Portland and Bangor Ronald McDonald Houses® are the cornerstones of the Charity, RMHC of Maine’s support goes far beyond the Houses.

In 2010, RMHC of Maine awarded funding to the following organizations:

STATEWIDE OUTREACH
-Easter Seals Maine. $3,000 for Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities or Special Needs
-Jobs for Maine Graduates. $7,500 for Success with Financial Literacy program

BANGOR AREA
-Children’s Miracle Network, Hospitals of Eastern Maine Health Care. $8,900 for Beads of Courage program
-Old Town/Orono YMCA. $6,575.00 for upgrades to daycare bathroom/changing area
-Ronald McDonald House of Bangor. $7,000 to refresh guest rooms

CENTRAL MAINE
- Augusta Boys & Girls Club for Teens. $10,000 for phase two of the skate park

MID-COAST
-Broadreach Family & Community Services, Rockland/Belfast. $8,000 for Get up & Go! Initiative

NORTHERN MAINE
-Aid for Kids, Houlton. $10,700 for The Other Maine project

SOUTHERN MAINE
-Center for Grieving Children, Portland. $22,500 for Multicultural Peer Support Program
-Children’s Oral Health Program, Portland. $12,000 for access to quality oral healthcare for children
-Company of Girls, Portland. $5,000 for From Fledgling to Full Grown program
-Kids First Center, Portland. $10,160 for divorce support groups for children and adolescents
-New England Film Academy, Portland. $10,000 for Urban Filmmakers project
-Telling Room, Portland. $20,000 for Young Writers & Leaders, Workshops, Young Writers Council Programs

WESTERN MAINE
-Camp Sunshine, Sebago Lake. $3,000 for Family Sponsorship Program
-Susan L. Curtis Learning & Leadership Center, Lovell. $19,830 for Venture Out program
