Mechanics Savings Bank Scholarship Scholarship Winner

Thirteen $1,000.00 Banking on the Future Scholarships will be awarded to area high school graduates.  Mechanics Savings Bank recently awarded a $1,000.00 Banking on the Future Scholarship to Poland Regional High School graduate Kimberly D. Wallingford. She is the daughter of James and Louise Wallingford of Minot.  While at Poland Regional High School, Wallingford was a member of the National Honor Society, Natural Helpers, and the Ski/Ride Club.  She also played soccer and basketball and was a member of the outdoor track and field team.  Wallingford served as a volunteer basketball coach for middle-schoolers and worked at Wallingford Fruit House and at Taber’s Golf and Restaurant.  In the fall, Wallingford will attend the University of Vermont to major in Physical Therapy.  She plans to eventually earn a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.  For more than twenty years, Mechanics Savings Bank has provided scholarships to assist high school graduates with their higher education goals. This year, the Banking on the Future Scholarship program is awarding $1,000.00 to thirteen high school graduates at seven area high schools.
