Mechanics Savings Bank Supports Community
|
![]() Mechanics Savings Bank Supports Area Community Service AgenciesMechanics Savings Bank is lending its support to three community service organizations that serve the needs of residents in the Lewiston/Auburn area and surrounding communities. Mechanic Savings Bank's contribution to the Trinity Jubilee Center will assist the organization in providing services to the people of Lewiston/Auburn and beyond who have unmet personal, family, social and spiritual needs. The Center provides thousands of families and individuals with food, clothing, parent and child care, refugee outreach, as well as numerous other resources as needs arise. The Trinity Jubilee Center's drop-in shelter is open seven days a week with space for people to relax and find daytime shelter from cold, rain, or heat. For more information visit www.jubilmin@gwi.net. Recently, Mechanics Savings Bank provided financial assistance to Community Concepts' Keep Androscoggin Warm, a charitable giving fund. Monies will be used exclusively in Androscoggin County communities to help families who are facing record high fuel bills. Keeping warm this winter will be challenging for many Maine residents. Senior citizens and households with very young children are particularly at risk. In addition, Community Concepts has established the Keep Oxford Warm fund for Oxford County. Since 1965, Community Concepts has been a local community action agency serving Androscoggin and Oxford Counties. To learn more, log on to www.community-concepts.org . Mechanics Savings Bank has also made a donation to the Advocates for Children 23rd Holiday Festival for Children scheduled for Dec. 6th at St. Dominic Regional High School. The annual event creates a fun-filled holiday experience for more than 1,000 children and their families and is the organization's largest fundraiser. For 30 years, Advocates for Children has provided education and programs to prevent child abuse and neglect in the Androscoggin area. Its Parent Resource Center is an invaluable resource for families with children at any developmental stage. Tickets for the Holiday Festival for Children are available at Hannaford stores in Auburn and Lewiston, and at Advocates for Children, 57 Birch St., Suite 204, in Lewiston. For more information visit www.advocatesforchildren.net. Founded in 1875, Mechanics Savings Bank currently serves customers from three branch offices located in Auburn, Lewiston, and Windham, Maine.
